A few words about meditation

No matter what the reason for practising it, meditation is universal. For everybody can be different; different way and approach of practising. I remember years back, before I start practising more formal meditation a dear friend coming back from a retreat asked me what kind of meditation I was practising. And I answered, “my own”! Meditation is to find peace, inner peace with a consequence to radiate that and pass it on to others. If by watching the sea, or listening a stream relaxes you and brings you peace, so let it be. Only how I see that is, you have to go in to places to calm you down, it can not be  instant. As well as, what I have discovered is that with a more formal meditation you altering how you see things, starting from yourself. How you see others, how you see life… I always say that especially the 8 week beginners course can be life changing experience.

Nowadays, you will find a lot of meditation practices for balancing and bringing peace in the mind, suited to people from all walks of life, from Eastern cultures or more Westernize adaptations without the “Buddha”, religion factor in it. But no matter what type of meditation you practice, or the reason for practicing it, meditation is universal. But even though meditation is universal, meditation techniques may differ from one to another. Often different meditation techniques are suited to different personality types.

A particular practice is best suited to a particular mind. So? Explore! The type of meditation practice varies according to taste, temperament, and mind of the individual. That is why I welcome everybody that wants to have a taste of my teachings and practices and see if those resonate with theirs. Also, another key factor is the teacher it self. The connection between teacher and student.
